Automated Incident Resolution in Banking: Integrating GitLab Runners with ServiceNow for Faster MTTR

The study highlights a realistic architecture within the high-stakes world of banking operations, wherein GitLab Runners perform as a strong automation layer coordinating by service these requests, infrastructure provisioning & remedial measures begin by the actual time alerts in ServiceNow. Historically manual chores—such as ticket resolution, deployment rollbacks, and change approvals—are turned via this interface into seamless, auditable operations. The result is a move from reactive to proactive, self-repairing systems. By means of real-world use examples and performance metrics, the paper exposes how businesses may lower MTTR from hours to minutes, improve compliance via automation, and empower engineering teams to focus on higher-value work. Apart from a technical study, the research looks at the cultural & organizational tools required for implementing such a system, including cross-functional collaboration & alignment of governance. The findings show that including intelligent solutions into DevOps pipelines improves more operational performance & protects important systems in a volatile digital world.
